कैंडिड फोटोग्राफी में नेचुरल पलों को कैमरे में कैद किया जाता है। इसमें जिसका फोटो लिया जाता है, न तो उसे फोटो लेने के पहले बताया जाता है और न ही फोटो को किसी तरह से एडिट किया जाता है। कोशिश यही रहती है कि इसमें नेचुरल लाइट का ही प्रयोग हो। इसके लिए फ्लैश का भी उपयोग नहीं किया जाता।
